Mentally challenged person mistaken as braid chopper thrashed in North Kashmir

Baramulla, Oct 20 (Only Kashmir): A mentally challenged person mistaken as braid chopper in fruit Mandi area was beaten blue and black at Sopore North of Kashmir. Condition of injured is stated to be critical and has been referred to Srinagar.
According to the Sopore police a mob had got hold of an alleged braid chopper in fruit Mandi area. Immediately a police party rushed to spot and found that a mob was beating one person ruthlessly. The miscreants had also burnt hay and were trying to set the person ablaze. Some miscreants were trying to run a tractor over him.
The person was rescued and identified as Wasim Ahmad Tantray reportedly mentally challenged son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Shakwara presently residing at Puthkhah Nowpora Sopore. The said person was immediately rushed to SDH Sopore. Condition of injured is stated to be critical and has been referred to Srinagar.
Police has registered an FIR and the culprits involved have been identified.
