PaK family appeals Mehbooba to ensure their juvenile son’s release

Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNB): A 17-yrs-old juvenile Najam ul Saqib Azhar of Pakistan-administrated Kashmir who was arrested by the government forces last month at Keeran Kupwara north of Kashmir after he accidentally crossed the Line of Control (LOC) at Keeran sector has been shifted to Kotbalwal Jail Jammu. The helpless family of the teenager while appealing the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in the matter said it was worrisome to know that their son was shifted to Jammu despite being a juvenile.
The family sources told Kashmir News Bureau that the family of the detained boy migrated to PaK in early 90s from Keeran Kupwara, this side of Kashmir, adding, the maternal family of the boy, however, preferred to remain here.
The maternal uncle of Najam ul Saqib told KNB, that the boy accidentally crossed the Line of Control via Kishan Ganga river dividing two parts of Kashmir following which he was arrested by the Keeran Police. He said despite the fact that Najam is a juvenile was shifted to Kotbalwal Jail Jammu.



The copies of the school certificates of the Najam ul Saqib which lies with Kashmir News Bureau reads his birth date at 03-May-2000.
The family while appealing to CM Mehbooba Mufti Stated – “We appeal to CM to take an humanitarian outlook into this issue and ensure his release so that his future is not pushed into dark corridors.” (KNB)
