SMC Commissioner Riyaz Ahmed Wani took part in Old City Tree Planting Drive

Srinagar, Mar 22 (Only Kashmir): On the eve of World Arbour Day, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Riyaz Ahmed Wani on Thursday participated in plantation drive organized by Beopar Mandal Mahraj Gung Srinagar.
The initiative to plant the tress within the vicinity of historic Mahraj Gung area of old City Srinagar was launched by Beopar Mandal Mahraj Gung in which besides locals a number of traders planted hundreds of saplings tress with great endeavor.



(SMC) Commissioner Riyaz Ahmed Wani who was invited as a chief guest on the occasion also planted trees at a local park.
Speaking on the occasion, Raiyaz Wani lauded the efforts of Beopar Mandal and said initiatives in conserving natural resources helps in maintaining ecological balance.
President Beopar Mandal Khurshied Ahmad Dalal while tanking SMC Commissioner for making his presence in the event said the initiative is aimed to provide clean air, habitat for various animal species besides to regain the glory of Old City.
The locals also hailed the Beopar Mandal for conducting such events.
