Singer Shameema Akhtar comes with new song in praise of Police

Srinagar, Mar 31 (KNB): Adding one more star to her collar, the Kashmir’s prominent young singer with melodious voice Shameema Akhtar has come with a new song ‘Police Hamari hai Muhafiz’ as a mark to give tribute to the personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The song jointly sang by Shameema Akhter and Mazhar Siddiqui is written by Ameer Ahmed and composed by Mazhar Siddiqui.
The 3.17-minute-long Urdu song with lyrics like “Maidaan mein, mard-e-momin, Police Hamari Azm-e-jawan, ki konkan, Police Hamari” is also available for the audience on YouTube.




Shameema Akhtar while talking to Kashmir News Bureau said that the police personnel are always on forefront to protect and help the citizens, as such I believe it was the moral responsibility of society to pay respect to their dedication and courage on professional lines.
Hailing from a remote village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, the 24-yrs-old Shameema Akhter via her talent and exuberance has revived the love of music among millions of people and is emerging as a prominent Sufi singer. Shameema who has dozens of songs to her credit via her singing is on way to unite people with their roots through music under which she has now decided to release at least one song every month for her fans based in Kashmiris and outside the valley.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Iftikar Chowdary while talking to Kashmir News Bureau, said the song depicting the work and duties that the men and the women of the police force perform in a highly tensed situation in Kashmir particularly is quite a good effort. He said every such activity which comes in form of praise from the common people encourages the personnel to work with more dedication, adding, more such videos should be made for larger interest.
