Srinagar, April 21 (KNB): Recognizing the efforts of Advocate Deepika Thussu Rajawat in providing justice for the family of the eight-year-old Kathua rape victim, Pakistan administrated Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association has awarded her Honorary Membership.
Sources revealed to Kashmir News Bureau that a letter has been sent to Advocate Deepika in acknowledgment of her courageously representing the rape and murder of the minor victim family.
The copy of the letter which also lies with Kashmir News Bureau is signed by Advocate Mian Sultan Mahmood, Secretary General AJK Supreme Court Bar Association reads, “Despite threats and intimations to her life the Association awards this certificate to Advocate Deepika.”



Deepika Thusoo Singh, 38, is a Kashmiri Pandit whose family migrated to Jammu from their ancestral village Karihama in North Kashmir in 1986.
Pertinent to mention here, the Deepika took up the case against opposition from the Jammu Bar Association. Rajawat has said that she has been threatened by many, labelled as ‘anti-Hindu.’ She was told by the Bar association to “not appear or we know how to stop you.” In spite of these threats, she wants to keep fighting this case, not just for Asifa, but also for her young daughter. She has implored the Supreme Court to provide her family and her with safety.
Not only the Deepika her counsil member Advocate Talib Hussain was twice attacked by the goons for raising voice and holding protest in Jammu seeking justice for minor girl raped and murdered by the Hindu goons.
Talking to this reporter, Advocate Deepika while confirming the development said it is encouraging for her and it shows that there is scope for peace and world can still be on the path of peace. (KNB)
