Delhi Minority Commission took notice on Kashmir lady’s assault incident

New Delhi, May 19 (KNB): Taking a grim view of the incident where a Kashmiri lady and her relatives living in South Delhi’s Siddhartha Extension were assaulted by some local people recently, Delhi Minority Commission (DMC) Chairman Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan toured the area and also spoke to DCP South to offer adequate security to the lady and her relatives.



DMC has also issued notices to Delhi Police and the locality’s RWA to file reports and has directed the RWA members to desist from making unfounded allegations against the lady.
Pertinently, Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik briefed Union home secretary Rajiv Gauba about the attack on a woman and her kin in Sunlight Colony area in southeast Delhi and told him that the attack was not related to the assault victim’s Kashmiri origin, as was alleged in many quarters.(KNB)
