Zaffer Akbar not allowed to go for Umrah, detained at Delhi Airport

Srinagar, June 01 (Only Kashmir): Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) chairman Zaffar Akbar Bhat was not allowed to visit Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage after he was detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi on Friday.
According to statement issued to press JKSM Chairman and senior sepratist leader Zaffar Akbar Bhat along with his aged mother was headed towards Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage.
“Zaffar was scheduled to take his mother for Umrah. But administration raising several objections and creating hurdles, and finally detained him at Delhi international Airport,” reads the statement.



Salvation Movement spokesman has strongly condemned the detaining of Zaffar Akbar despite he was along with 80 years old mother leaving for Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage. He termed move as undemocratic, political revenge and harassment which is against to social and humanitarian grounds.
