CYD conducts Drug Abuse Prevention and Awareness program in Old City

Teachers of different private and government Schools falling under ZEO Rainawari were sensitized about the ill effects of drugs, Signs and symptoms and the treatment facilities available at different corners of the valley.

Srinagar, Aug 05 (Only Kashmir): In view of curbing the menace of Drug abuse in the valley Centre for Youth Development (CYD) a Srinagar based social organization conducted a workshop with the teachers of zone Rainawari at Girls Hr. Secondary School, Rainawari, Srinagar in support of Directorate of School education and IRCS.
Teachers of different private and government Schools falling under ZEO Rainawari were sensitized about the ill effects of drugs, Signs and symptoms and the treatment facilities available at different corners of the valley.



The chairman (CYD) Imtiyaz Chasti on the occasion distributed DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION GUIDE and said that we will be doing the series of awareness and sensitization camps/programs across the valley to cover the prevention part of addiction treatment as we have witnessed a lot of problems during the last three decades which is also one of the major factors among drug abuse.
The program was started with an inaugural and introductory speech by the chairman (CYD) Imtiyaz Chasti followed by sensitization and awareness speeches by Dr Waris from Department of psychiatry, Gmc, Srinagar.
M. Ashraf Sr. Counselor from De- Addiction Centre, PCR, Srinagar. Junaid Qayoom Field Officer from Red Cross Society and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Dariyal from Downtown Coordination comette. The teachers and rest of the audience appreciated the program and the efforts of CYD for bringing a positive change in the society. (OK)
