Srinagar, Aug 14 (KNB): Suspected militants on Monday late evening carried attack on PDP’s Youth President Waheed Para during his visit to Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Reports reaching Kashmir News Bureau, that erstwhile Secretary of Sports Council Waheed Para had a narrow escape on Monday evening after unknown gunmen fired upon him.



“The suspected militants fired upon the Bullet Proof vehicle (Bolero) of Para, fortunately, he left unhurt,” said reports, adding, at least 2-4 bullets hit his vehicle.
Pertinent to mention here, the attack comes days after Governor Administration asked Para to vacate the accommodation at Gupkar Road.
Meanwhile, confirming the incident Waheed Para while talking to KNB stated that he was there for a condolence meeting.
Pertinently, the VIPs have urged upon authorities to strengthen their security following the assassination of a reputed journalist of Kashmir Valley Dr. Shujat Bukhari on 13th June.
A resident of highly militancy affected Tahab Pulwama of South Kashmir, Parra was allotted government security cover and accommodation soon after he joined the PDP cadre under late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s leadership. During PDP-BJP coalition government Waheed was appointed as Secretary Sports Council. On June 22, Parra submitted his resignation to J&K Governor. (KNB)
