Div Com administers oath to newly elected Corporators of SMC

Srinagar, Oct 29 (Only Kashmir): The newly elected Municipal Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) took oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony held here at Banquet Hall, today.
The oath was administered by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan. Those taking oath for Corporator for SMC included 26 women.
The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan congratulated the newly elected Corporators for showing enthusiasm in strengthening the grass root level democracy and said that people have high hopes with regard to development from them.
He urged upon them to meet the expectations of people and take the developmental scenario to new heights in Srinagar so that the progressive growth remains for all to see.



Among others, District Election Officer, Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Peerzadah Hafeezullah, SDM (East) Riyaz Ahmad and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Peerzada Zahoor besides Returning Officers were also present on the occasion.
Bandipora
The newly elected municipal committee members of Municipal Committee Bandipora and Sumbal took oath at a swearing-in-cermony, held here at Conference Hall Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by ADC Bandipora in presence of Election Nodal Officer, Ex. Officer MC Bandipora and Ex. Officer MC Sumbal.
Anantnag
The newly elected Municipal Councillors and Municipal Committee members today took oath at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, Anantnag.
ADDC, Anantnag, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi gave oath to 22 Municipal Councillors and 06 Municipality members, 05 from MC, Achabal and 01 member from MC, Seer Hamdan.
The ADDC on the occasion congratulated the newly elected Councillors & Municipal Committee members & stressed them to work with dedication and honestly for strengthening the developmental process on grass root level.
Leh
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Avny Lavasa today administered oath to the 13 elected members of 1st Municipal Committee Leh. On the occasion, Member Legislative Assembly Leh Nawang Rigzin Jora, Councilors, leaders, religious heads, head of departments and others were also present.
Kupwara
Pertinent to mention here, District Election Officer (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, the Elected Members of Municipalities of Kupwara District will be administered oath on October 30, 2018. (OK)
