Srinagar, Feb 17 (Only Kashmir): Reacting to the government decision of withdrawing security of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman on Sunday said Hurriyat leaders had never asked for security, it was the government that insisted on keeping the personnel based on what they said was their assessment of threat perception, adding, today it’s their decision to remove it. It’s not an issue for us.
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Sunday issued orders to withdraw security of five separatist leaders, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, officials said. Besides the Mirwaiz, the security cover for Shabir Shah, Abdul Gani Lone, Bilal Lone and Hashim Qureshi has been withdrawn, they said.
