Kashmir in one voice condemns New Zealand terror attack

Srinagar, Mar 15 (Only Kashmir): Cutting across the political lines, the socio-political parties and personalities of Kashmir in one voice condemned the terror attack on the twin mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand in 50 people got killed.
Kashmir’s chief cleric and Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was quick to took on Twitter to condemn the attack, “Shocked and Deeply grieved by the barbaric attack at twin mosques in #Christchurch New Zealand. Multiple fatalities feared. Once again Humanity becomes a casualty. Condemnation beyond words. prayers for the victims,” Mirwaiz wrote on Twitter.


Former Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah while commenting on attack, said “Good to see most people are calling the #NewZealandMosqueFiring what it is – a terror attack. #NewZealandTerroristAttack. No words of condemnation are strong enough & no words of sympathy for the families adequate enough. May Allah grant them Jannat.”


Holding the banners which read, “New Zealand we are grieved” a protest rally was carried by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) at City Centre Abi Guzar Srinagar soon after the Friday congregation prayers.
“New Carnage at New-Zealand has once again exhibited the ugly face of extremism and casteism and putting an immediate end to it is the need of the hour. Our hearts go to the families that have lost their loved ones in this act of savagery.,” this was stated by the vice chairman JKLF Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi on the occasion.
Aged pro-freedom leader and chairman of Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned the terror attack termed it a heinous and brutal act not only against the Muslims, but whole humanity and anybody with a human heart will find his words insufficient in condemning this barbaric act.

Kashmir Economics Alliance Friday condemned the deadly attack in a statement said that terrorism has no religion, adding, the heinous attack illustrated the growing hostility towards Islam “idly” watched by the world.
Expressing serious concern, shock and grief over the killing of innocent Muslims in New Zealand, Karwani Islami patron Ghulam Rasool Hami said that the attack on Muslims is the direct outcome of the propaganda being carried out by the national and international media against Muslims.
JKLF (H) Chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir strongly condemned the deadliest terror attack said Muslims in New Zealand were cowardly massacred.
Meanwhile, one of the former Chief Ministers of J&K Ms. Mehbooba Mufti preferred to condemn the silence of Indian leadership over the attack, she also took to the Twitter stating, “Odd that neither PM nor anyone from Congress has condemned the NZ attack. Terrorism has no religion but unfortunately it’s become easy & even convenient to associate it with Islam. Is the criminal silence just because the attacks were against Muslims in a mosque?”


The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir strongly condemned the terror attack at two mosques in New Zealand, describing the attack as cowardly, mindless and barbaric.
