Cross Country Race of Darsgah Students held in Srinagar

The locals have hailed the organizers for conducting such events and hoped that this practice would continue in the future.

Srinagar, April 28 (Only Kashmir): In a first, a Cross Country race was held in Srinagar on Sunday organized by Maktabah Muhammad Bin Qasim (RA) Waza Pora Srinagar which saw the participation of hundreds of enthusiastic students from several Darsgahs.

Hundreds of blooming buds in Islamic outfit started the 5 Kms race from Kashmir University’s Maulana Rumi Gate and ended at Duck Park foreshore Road. The traffic was halted by the traffic department for smooth conduct and to avoid any untoward incident.
Pertinently, the event was organized by Maktabah Muhammad Bin Qasim (RA) Waza Pora in collaboration with “Bridging the Gap” an online social activism forum. The other Darsgahs that participated in the event included Maktabah Muhammad bin Qasim Peer Masjid Gojwara, Maktabah Rahemia, BulBul Lankar and Maktabah Syed Muhammad Amin Owaisi.
The positions were given in three categories under which 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Daain Aziz, Arbaz Bashir and Arsalan Ashiq respectively.
In 2nd category first three positions were bagged by Aasif Malik, Zaid Ashiq and Salim Javaid.
In 3rd category first three positions were bagged by Musaib Mushtaq, Ahsanullah Ishfaq and Shahid Gulzar.

The winning students were felicitated by Guest of honor on the occasion Qari Shah Muhammad Grand Imam Ranger Masjid Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion President Maktabah Muhammad Bin Qasim (RA) Waza Pora, Mr. Khalid Hussain said that for inculcating sportsman spirit among youth cross country races are very essential. Islam emphasizes about the essence of being healthy as a sound mind lies in a sound body so in order to keep the body healthy these types of activities are inevitable.

Vice President Maktabah Muhammad Bin Qasim (RA), Mr. Umar Qadri while congratulating the wining students said health is essential for carrying out the obligation of Islam. Hence such activities should be conducted regularly. He thanked Burraq Tour and Travels for transportation, Darul Atta for Medical assistance and Onlykashmir[dot]in for media coverage.
Meanwhile, the locals have hailed the organizers for conducting such events and hoped that this practice would continue in the future.
