Srinagar, May 17 (Only Kashmir): Days after the reconciliation, Mujahid Sheikh Muhammad Imran, Deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Friday joined the Peoples Conference in presence of party chairman Sajad Gani Lone.
General Secretary Imran Ansari, Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattoo and ex MLA Bashir Ahmed Dar were also present at the function.
Pertinently, after sparring with each other, Srinagar mayor Junaid Azim Mattu and deputy mayor Sheikh Imran, last week decided to join heads aimed at reconciliation in presence of Sajad Gani Lone.
Importantly, the development of reconciliation comes soon after 48 Cooperators of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation allegedly initiated a Vote of No Confidence Motion against Imran.
Last month, Imran hit the headlines asked Kashmiris to add the prefix ”mujahid” to their names to send a strong message that the term is in no way related to terrorism and also to defeat those fighting elections stoking “communal hatred”. The drive was considered par with the ‘Chowkidar’ drive led by BJP leaders.
