Civilian interference helped militants to escape from Encounter site in Shopian

Srinagar, Apr 16 (Only Kashmir): In yet another of its kind incident, people in Heff village of Shopian while interrupting the encounter helped militants who fired upon the forces managed to escape the site. Pertinently, since 2016 civilian interference has helped 25 militants escape from encounter sites.

According to the police spokesman a cordon and search operation was launched in village Heff of Shopian during which militants fired upon the forces during which a mob of people assembled and taking advantage of the mob militants managed to escape.

After sometime it was learnt that one person has received a bullet injury in his shoulder and was admitted in Pulwama district hospital. His condition is stated to be stable so far.

Earlier Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said that security forces in Kashmir will respond harshly to protesters trying to disturb counter-insurgency operations, a top security official from the state has said that since 2016 civilian interference has helped 25 militants escape from encounter sites.
