Empanelment Committee discusses online media guidelines for advertisements

Jammu, Mar 14 (Only Kashmir): The Empanelment Committee on Wednesday held threadbare discussions on various issues including guidelines to be framed for release of government advertisements to the electronic and online media.
Pertinently, the Empanelment Committee constituted by the Government for approval of fresh newspapers and periodicals for release of official advertisements met here today under the chairmanship of Secretary Information, Dr Abdul Rashid.
The Committee discussed various issues including Categorization of newspapers for implementation of new rate structure, guidelines to be framed for release of government advertisements to the electronic and online media and matters regarding empanelment of new newspapers and review of existing empanelment.



The meeting discussed the new cases of newspapers and periodicals placed before it for empanelment and after deliberations it was decided that the Department of Information would firm up the consolidated list of all such publications with specific recommendations in light of the guidelines laid down in the Advertisement Policy-2016.
The members of the Empanelment Committee including Director Information, Muneer-ul-Islam, Director Budget, Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani, Special Secretary Home, Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Special Secretary Information, Narinder Singh Bali, Joint Director Information (Headquarters) SaajidYehaya Naqash, Professor MERC Srinagar, Sabeha Mufti, Special Director IIMC Jammu, Manohar Khajuria besides other officers of the Information Department were present at the meeting.
Meanwhile The meeting of the Press Award Committee constituted for the year 2018 was held here today, under the Chairperson MLA, Shamima Firdous wherein discussions were held on conferring Annual Awards for the outstanding performances in the field of print and electronic media for giving wide publicity to the proceedings of the House and bringing its deliberation to the people at grass root level.
