Farooq Abdullah, Nazir Khan files nomination for Srinagar ByPoll
Srinagar, Mar 20 (Only Kashmir): National Conference patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party candidate Nazir Khan on Monday filed their nomination for Srinagar Lok Sabha parliamentary seat which will go to polls on April 9. Besides Omar Abdullah, G.A Mir and others, Farooq Abdullah was accompanied by former PDP leader Tariq Hameed Karra who resigned from the Srinagar seat to which elections are going to be held.
Nazir Ahmad Khan, a former Congress leader who lost to Omar Abdullah by a narrow margin of less than thousand votes in 2014 assembly election, also filed his nomination from Srinagar seat on PDP ticket. He was accompanied by senior PDP leaders Muzaffar Hussain Beig and Imran Ansari.
Anantnag Lok Sabha seat in the tense south Kashmir will go to polls on April 12 with the J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s brother, Tasaduq Mufti, pitted against J&K Congress chief GA Mir, the candidate of National Conference-Congress coalition.
Congress and NC are fighting the election jointly. While as BJP decided not to participate in Elections and extended support to their partner in state alliance PDP.
Prof. Bhim Singh addressing a Press Conference in Srinagar (Kashmir) announced the decision of Kashmir Executive Committee of Panthers Party that the party is pained to announce that it has decided to boycott the Lok Sabha bye-elections of the Parliament for the reason that the ruling clique (PDP-BJP) has taken away all security cover of the Executive Members in Kashmir Valley.
