Forces launch search operation in tourist hub Boulevard Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 21 (Only Kashmir): Hours after the militants gave slip to security forces in Ontabawan Nowshara, a massive cordon and search operation was again launched in tourist hub Boulevard Srinagar following inputs about the presence of militants in these area.
Sources said following inputs about the presence of militants in tourist hub Boulevard Srinagar the government forces launched massive cordon and search operation where hotels are being searched.



Sources said a large contingent of Police and CRPF arrived at Boulevard Srinagar and cordoned off the area and laid a massive search operation which was going on while filing this report.
Earlier, a group of Jaish-e-Mohammad militants gave slip to security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar in Ontabawan, Nowshara after an operation was launched against them last night. This is for the second time in last 10 days that militants slipped out the cordon in Srinagar. On January 13, two militants gave slip to security forces in Lal Bazar area.
Last week Police clarified that cordon and search operations are not under going anywhere in Srinagar city but ahead of republic day J&K police assisted by CRPF is undertaking routine security checking at places lying in the vicinity of Sher-e-Kashmir stadium, this year’s venue for the republic day.
