Grenade blast claims life in Kashmir capital Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 7 (Only Kashmir): Claiming one life and injuring about 13 persons including a lady and Traffic police personnel , a suspected militant hurled a grenade on a Para-military Central Reserve Police Force vehicle Thursday evening at Jehangir Chowk Srinagar.

According to the police statement fourteen persons were injured in a grenade attack at Jehangir Chowk in which about 14 persons including a Traffic Police personnel were injured.

The injured were shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment where one of the injured identified as Maqsood Ahmad Shah son of Ali Mohammad Shah resident of Budgam succumbed to his injuries.

The Traffic police personnel was shifted to Police Hospital, Srinagar for treatment. The investigation of the incident is going on.

A police official said that it will be premature to say that the slain man was actually the grenade thrower. “Investigation is on and everything will become clear,” he said.
