Minaret of Khankah-e-Moula damaged in fire, CM, Mirwaiz and others visited shrine

Srinagar, Nov 15 (Only Kashmir): A minaret of Khankah-e-Moula Amir-e-Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (R.A.) suffered damage in a fire incident during the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, the fire was brought under control with the help of locals. To assess the damage several dignitaries including Mehbooba Mufti, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Ali Muhammad Sagar, Javaid Ahmad Mir and others visited the revered shrine.
According to the eye witnesses’ fire broke out in the shrine of Hazrat Syed Ali Hamdani in Old City area of Srinagar during the intervening night of Tuesday- Wednesday. The fire tenders were rushed from different parts of the city. Besides, locals also joined to control the flames.

To assess the damage caused by fire Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti visited the shrine and went round various areas of the shrine complex to assess the quantum of damage. She sought a detailed appraisal from the local administration regarding the fire incident.
On the occasion, people of the area demanded installation of CCTVs in the shrine complex, availability of fire tenders in the locality, scientific protection to the wood structures at the shrine and expediting shrine expansion plan.
Kashmir’s chief cleric and Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday also visited the shrine of Hazrat Amir-e-Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (R.A.) Old City Srinagar to assess the quantum of damage. Mirwaiz on the occasion prayed for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.Mirwaiz 1
Besides others, National Conference senior leader Ali Muhammad Sagar, JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, JKLF (H) Chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir also visited the shrine and interacting with the members of the management committee and devotees.
Pertinent to mention here, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti who visited the shrine of Hazrat Amir i Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (R.A.) to access the damages caused due to the fire incident Wednesday faced embarrassment after locals including women greeted her amid Pro-Freedom sloganeering. The eye witnesses told Onlykashmir.in that the crowd raised ‘azaadi’ slogans soon after the Mufti’s arrival at shrine. The women protestors demanded arrest of miscreants involved in recent Braid Chopping incidents.
CM Mehbooba Mufti was accompanied by Minister for Education, Syed Altaf Bukhari; Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash; MLC, Khursheed Alam; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Khan; IGP Kashmir zone, Munir Khan and other senior officers accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.(OK)
