NC remembers Sheikh Abdullah on his Birth Anniversary
Srinagar, Dec 05 (Only Kashmir): The National Conference on Tuesday held commemorative functions to mark the 112th Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah across the State. The main commemorative function and congregational Fateha Khwani was held at Naseem Bagh in Srinagar. National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah, Party Leaders and Legislators along with hundreds of activists participated in the Fateha Khwani and paid glowing tributes to the Party Founder.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah said Sher-e-Kashmir’s legacy of unimaginable struggles for the dignity of his people provides a guiding light for not just the party but the people of Jammu and Kashmir as a whole. “In Sher-e-Kashmir’s legacy we find answers to many challenges that we are faced with today – including a challenge to our special status and unique political identity. The best tribute to Sher-e-Kashmir would be to leave no stone unturned to fight for the honour and dignity of our people who have suffered immensely due to various political machinations, instability and turmoil”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said.
National Conference Working President, Omar Abdullah Senior Party Leaders, Office Bearers and Legislators also spoke on the occasion and participated in the congregational Fateha Khwani and paid glowing tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir.
Meanwhile Youth National Conference, Kashmir Province organized a blood donation camp at Naseem Bagh to mark the 112th Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. Led by YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, hundred youth body members and office bearers donated blood to be distributed among government hospitals in Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar paid glowing tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and said the Blood Donation Camp was a mark of tribute and respect to the Party Founder who spent nearly three decades of his life in various jails while he fought for the rights and dignity of his people.
