Railway conducts trial of glass roof train in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 22: In the run-up to providing delightful travelling experience in the picturesque Kashmir valley, the Railways on Thursday conducted a trial run of glass roof coaches from Srinagar to south Kashmir.

According to a Railway official, “The first trial run of the glass roof coach train was flagged off by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Firozpur Vivek Kumar from Srinagar in central Kashmir to Sadoora in Anantnag on Thursday.”



He said the train service for passengers, including tourists, is likely to be rolled out in the next two to three months, adding that the vistadome coaches will have features like glass roofs, LED lights, rotatable seats and GPS-based information system.

The air-conditioned tourist coaches with large glass windows will enable tourists an uninterrupted view to enjoy the scenic beauty of Kashmir valley, the official said further.
