Tributes paid to Ghulam Nabi Mir on his anniversary

Srinagar, Jan 19 (Only Kashmir): The Javaid Ahmad Mir led Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Friday paid rich tributes to Ghulam Nabi Mir on his anniversary who according to party spokesman died due to non-bearable tortures for 12 months at Papa II.
According to JKLF Spokesperson, a meeting was held in old city Sheher e Khaas after Friday prayers on the occasion of the Martyrdom anniversary of Gh. Nabi Mir, Father of JKLF Chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir and 55 Martyrs of Gow Kadal Srinagar.
Addressing the meeting Javiad Mir said at the very inception of present armed struggle in Kashmir, forces during a night raid arrested my father Gh. Nabi Mir and took him to notorious BSF Interrogation Centre Papa II. Due to the Non-bearable tortures for 12 months at Papa II, ailing Ghulam Nabi Mir was shifted to Central Jail Srinagar wherein he suffered from the paralysis. He was then shifted to the SKIMS wherein he breathed his last on between 20th and 21st night 1992 thus joining the list of the Martyrs of the Kashmir who presented their precious lives for the cause, adding, I am proud of my father who devoted his life for the Kashmir cause.
At the end of the meeting, special prayers were held for the Martyrs of Kashmir in general and for the Lt. Gh. Nabi Mir in particular.
