Top LeT militant Abu Ismail killed in Kashmir, Internet snapped, restrictions on Friday

Srinagar, Sept 14 (Only Kashmir): Abu Ismail, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant operating in Kashmir was killed on Thursday in an encounter with government forces in outskirts of Srinagar forcing authorities to snap mobile internet services in Kashmir. The authorities also decided to impose restriction on Friday in parts of Srinagar.
According to the police spokesman Two foreign militants, both Pakistan nationals, were killed in this encounter, including Abu Ismail, the top LeT commander, who planned and carried out the attack on a bus of Amarnath Yatris in Batengoo area of Anantnag district on July 10 this year that left eight pilgrims dead. The other militant killed in this encounter was Abu Qasim alias Chotta Qasim.
Two AK 47 rifles and some other materials were seized from the slain militants.
Following the killing of duo, authorities blocked mobile internet services in several parts of Srinagar. However, later the 2G and 3G services were restored and 4G services still continue to remain blocked.

According to the District Magistrate Srinagar, restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC will remain in force under the jurisdiction of Police Stations, Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal, in district Srinagar on September 15 (Friday) as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile the authorities on Thursday evening placed Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest at his Nigeen residence Srinagar.
