Srinagar, Oct 16 (Only Kashmir): Ruling party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worker and former Sarpanch identified as Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh (55) Monday evening shot dead by unknown gunmen outside his residence Imamsahab area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police spokesman while conforming the killing of man told said that the suspected militants fired upon Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh (55) near his residence at Huomhuna, Imamsahab at evening.
“The gunmen took Sheikh outside his house and shot him from point blank range”.
Sheikh, a Halqa President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was shifted to nearby Zainpora Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” he said.
Meanwhile, Army, Special Operation Group of Police and CRPF cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the suspected militants.
