Srinagar, Dec 16 (Only Kashmir): The final match of the Shaheed-e-Milat T20 Cricket Tournament will be played on Monday, 18th Dec 2017 between Parimpora XI and Bagahat Gymkhana at Islamia College Hawal Srinagar to determine the winner of the seventh edition of the tournament. The presentation ceremony of the final match is expected to be presided over by Kashmir’s Chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq amid huge rush of cricket fans from length and breadth of Kashmir. The game is scheduled to start at 10.30 AM local time.
The Shaheed-e-Milat T20 Cricket Tournament which begins on 16 November witnessed some thrilling matches among the 32 participating teams with hundreds of cricket fans thronging stadium to support their teams in the league matches.
The final match to be played at Islamia College Hawal Srinagar will see cloudy conditions, however, in case of rainfall special arrangements have been made for the passionate cricket fans who are expected to throng the stadium in large numbers to cheer ecstatically for their favorite team/player.
The Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will be visiting Islamia College Hawal Srinagar to watch the final match of the tournament named after his father late Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq Sahib.
“We have formally invited Mirwaiz Sahib to visit Islamia College not only to watch the match but to preside the final presentation ceremony,” said S. Manzoor the Chief Coordinator of Tournament’s organizing committee.
Pertinently, a number of prominent socio-political personalities, traders, journalists, activists and senior citizens were invited by the organizing committee as chief guests in different league matches of the tournament.
Meanwhile the organizing committee has urged the members of media fraternity to ensure their presence at the final match to grace the occasion. Onlykashmir.in is the official media partner of the tournament.
