Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation disowns Imran Ansari, terms him ‘self-styled’ Chairman

The J&K based Non Government Organization (NGO), Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation which runs a hospital at Hamdaniya Colony Bemina Srinagar has disowned the PDP senior leader and State Minister Imran Raza Ansari, saying he was neither the member of Ulama Council nor the Trust. The Foundation also alleged that Ansari used ‘uncivilized’ language and declared himself a ‘self-styled’ Chairman of the Council.

According to the Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation handout, Imran Raza Ansari Tuesday visited the Imam Hussain hospital in Bemina without the information of the Chairman Ulama Council and Trust Members wherein he declared himself a ‘self-styled’ Chairman of the Council, adding, the Digital X-Ray machine inaugurated by him on the occasion is functional from past many years in the hospital.
The members said though Imran Ansari was neither the member of Ulama Council nor the Trust used government machinery to pomp and show his visit to the hospital in a bid to declare himself the Chairman of the Trust.
The members said Aga Syed Muhammad Fazllulah Almusawi and Moulna Molvi Muhammad Abbas Andsari are already serving as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation respectively.
Pertinently, as per government press release Imran Raza Ansari, Tuesday inaugurated a Digital X-Ray plant at Imam Hussain hospital.
“The Minister, who is also chairman of the trust which manages the hospital, spoke with hundreds of people who had gathered there, including the staff, and assured them that the hospital will be providing best healthcare facilities in coming days,” quoted government PR as said by Ansari.
Pertinent to mention here, Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation works in the field of health which provides various services to the poor which include life saving drugs, blood, medico-surgical consultation, medical aid and pace makers to the needy patients.
Despite not being popular and charismatic like his late father Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Molvi Imran Raza succeeded him as President of All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association and Shia religious cleric after the formers death in September 2014. After death of his father, Imran Raza was fielded by People’s Democratic Party at same constituency Pattan where his father served before. He won from his constituency and was declared minister of Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Service and Sports soon after the formation of government.
