Kashmir based Writer-Activist bags award for ‘Women in India’ paper

Mumbai, Feb 19 (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir based young eminent writer-activist and author of a book Mushtaqulhaq Ahmad Sikander has bagged best paper award among more than 60 papers that were presented during the conference in Mumbai.
Mushtaqulhaq Ahmad Sikander also convener Civil society for Justice and Development (CSJD) participated in the two day interdisciplinary national conference on economics, banking-finance and social sciences 2018 organized by a prestigious trust known as Kandivali Education Trust that runs B.K Shroff college of arts and M.H Shroff college of commerce, Mumbai.
His paper titled Muslim women in India: From Fatwas to Feminism was declared as the best paper among more than 60 papers that were presented during the conference.

While speaking to Kashmir News Bureau from Mumbai, Sikander stated that, “I dedicate this success to my mother who brought me up as a gender just boy and instilled in me love for books.”
When asked why he wrote on such a topic, he stated, “The issue of gender justice is close to my heart and I will continue to write about it more in the coming days.”
Mushtaq Ul Haq Ahmad Sikander is a Valley-based Writer, Activist and Independent Researcher. He is also the convener of Civil Society for Justice and Development (CSJD) and has wrote a book titled “Bridging the Divide: Call of a New Dawn” takes an account of Madrasas as prevalent in south Asia particularly subcontinent since the advent of British colonialism.
