Hooliganism: Traffic Cop Manhandles senior journalist in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 26 (KNB): In what can be described example of brazen hooligan approach by a Traffic cop posted at Jan Bakery Crossing Poloview Srinagar resorted to sheer hooliganism with senior journalist and Editor in Chief Kashmir News Bureau Malik Sajid while he was in a slow mode trying to stop the vehicle to attend an emergency phone call.



He stated – “Even if I erred he should have followed the legal process of challan but he resorted to absolute Road Romeo approach and manhandled me both at road as well at the office premises , some important documents also he tore apart .The vehicle Maruati Swift is still lying the office premises at Poloview. He hurled choicest abuses and said he hails from Downtown area and can do anything he likes.”
At a time when big claims are made that everything is being done to bring transparency and efficiency in Traffic system the overall worry of hooligan approach of the traffic cops still remains a serious issue.
Meanwhile SSP Traffic when contacted by KNB assured action against the cop.
