Srinagar, Mar 02 (KNB): In yet another of its kind shameful incident a newborn baby was Friday morning found in Old City Srinagar near a public park creating outrage among the people. The locals have yet to determine whether the boy was born there, or if he was transported there before being abandoned.
Earlier on January 26th this year, a similar of its kind incident was reported after a newborn baby was found dumped and being mauled by dogs outside Lal Ded (LD) Hospital.
According to the sources KNB received here, a newborn baby boy was Friday morning found in Old City Srinagar near a public park inside a bathroom which created outrage among the people following after the picture of boy has gone viral on social media websites.
Confirming the reports, SDPO Khanyar Raja Zuhaib while talking to Kashmir News Bureau said that during wee hours on Friday locals of the Ganj Bakhsh area of Nowhatta informed Police that a baby boy is abandoned in the area to which a police party went on spot and took the custody of baby. The baby was shifted to JLNM Hospital Rainawari where doctors declared him dead, he said and added, after legal formalities the baby was handed over to local Moqsue committee members for last rites, adding, a case under 5 under 318 RPC has been registered in this regard.
Meanwhile, first responders told Kashmir News Bureau that they were surprised to see this baby boy, adding, waywardness unheard in Kashmir are now taking place on regular basis and incidents related to immorality too are surfacing without any stoppage. (KNB)
