Srinagar, April 02 (KNB): The Army on Monday paid tributes to three of its comrades who lost their lives during Counter militant operations on 01 Apr 2018 in Kachdora village of Shopian District in which five militants were killed.
“In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the martyrs on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the martyrs,” a spokesman of the Army said here.
Late L/Nk Nilesh Singh, Gnr Arvinder Kumar and Sep Hetram sustained bullet injuries during the fierce operation in Kachdora village of Shopian district. They were provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.
L/Nk Nilesh Singh, 31 years of age, had joined Army in 2003 and hailed from Village Nagri in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is survived by his wife and a son.
Gnr Arvinder Kumar had joined the Army in 2012 and belonged to Village Sariana in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab and is survived by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Coming from Village Sonigasar Godars in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Sep Hetram was 25 years old and had joined Army in 2013. He is survived by his wife and parents.
The mortal remains of the slain personnel were flown for last rites to their native places, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. (KNB)
