Mehbooba nominates Safina Baig as president PDP Women’s wing

Srinagar, April 12 (KNB): In a significant decision today State Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has nominated Safina Baig as President Women’s wing for JKPD P. The announcement in this regard was made by party spokesman in a statement today.
Pertinently, Safina Baig has completed her LLB from prestigious Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and went to Jamia Milia University for LLM, she then practiced as active lawyer in High Court Srinagar for several years.
On the otherhand, she has been closely associated with grassroots politics and taking up the issues of common masses. She was also the star campaigner of the PDP during Assembly and Parliamentary elections, and played a crucial role in electoral victories of the party.
Voices are lauding the decision of state Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to nominate Mrs Safina Baig as President Women’s Wing.
Raees Ahmad, a youth from North Kashmir stated – “Women play an essential role in politics everywhere and the Chief Minister by making vibrant personality of Mrs Safina Baig as the President Women’s Wing has taken an impressive decision which would help in strengthening the party at ground zero .We need more educated faces in our political spectrum to make a positive change.”
With Mrs Safina Baig always eagerly taking up the matters and concerns faced by the people living in far-flung areas, the appointment is seen as bright omen. (KNB)
