Srinagar, April 19 (KNB): With clashes and protests from Students remaining unabated and becoming a daily norm throughout Kashmir especially after in backdrop of killings in South Kashmir, rape and murder of a Kathua Child the concern over loss of academic time of students is now becoming a raging debate.
Today also from North to South Kashmir and Central Kashmir the ugly scenes of clashing students were witnessed prompting many in Kashmir to opine that students should return to classes.
Works Minister and senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Naeem Akhtar on Thursday said that there was no reason for the students in Kashmir to hold protests over Kathua rape-and-murder case when the accused were already behind bars.
“What is the occasion for protests, stone pelting [over Kathua case] when case is solved, accused in jail and trial on? Shouldn’t they be attending classes instead,” Akhtar wrote in reply to a tweet of a journalist.

Taking to prominent Social Media Website Facebook, Researcher Mushafiq Sultan Parray –“it seems that an anarchist mindset has taken hold of our youngsters. While it is true that we need to register out protests but the way our students are getting involved in this at the cost of their education is lamentable. What will a nation that falls behind in education achieve for itself? From where has this anarchist sense crept into our students?”
Prominent Educationist and President Private School Association, GN Var, while talking to The Kashmir News Bureau stated – “ It is the trilateral responsibility of civil society, government and parents to ensure that our young students get maximum time in academics and I have always been of a strong belief that the field of the education should be above politics and all should keep cool head and ensure our students return to the classrooms.”
Imran Reza Ansari, Minister Sports and Youth affairs MLA From Pattan tweeted on social media website: would strongly urge my young students to please concentrate on your studies. Understand your anguish against #Kathua but a trial is on. Ministers have resigned. Justice will be delivered. My message to you – please study.”
The pulse on ground zero is that students should return to class rooms without any further delays. (KNB)
