World Book Day: Let’s pledge to promote Book Reading habit in Kashmir

World Book Day or World Book and Copyright Day is a yearly event on April 23rd, organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to promote reading, publishing and copyright. In the United Kingdom, the day is recognized on the first Thursday in March. World Book Day was celebrated for the first time on 23 April 1995.
On this day Onlykashmir.in pledges to promote the book reading habit, the habit of book reading should be inculcated among children and youth from a young age, that can help them become more productive, positive and help in de-radicalization too.
The book reading culture has been showing a downward trend since the onset of social media. Most of the time is consumed by the social media and mobile phones are the new age time usurpers. Despite this regressive consumption, the book lovers are growing too.
The new age nooks, Kindles and iPads have made it possible to read books using these gadgets too. Books and reading habit certainly broaden our horizons and vision that engages each one of us positively. (OK)
