Chandigarh, April 28 (KNB): The Kashmiri students pursuing in various courses at Desh Baghat University Punjab have alleged that they are facing several harrasment issues from the administration of Desh Baghat University, Mandi Gobindgarh Punjab, under which they are being asked to pay the fine of Rs 3 Crore (approx) on different pretexts.
The Kashmiri students talking to Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) stated that they have been fined Rs 3 core on account of late fees and other fine realms, creating abnormal internet charges, and bogus registration issues.
Even if via online medium the fees is deposited on time still it is shown under late date to extract hefty fine from the students of Kashmir.
A student at Desh Baghat University while pleading anonymity told Kashmir News Bureau, “Each student has been fined at least Rs ten to fifteen thousand on several pretexts. It is a clear cut move against Kashmiri students aimed to muzzle us, and even the original charges are hiked once a student from Kashmir enters the campus. With just few days left to exam even our roll no slips are not given and every medium used to scuttle our voice. The university has turned into a mini jail for us and resembles torture centre for us.”
According to reports, several female students fainted in last few days while protesting the callous and cruel attitude of administration against the students of Kashmir.
The students have urged the state government of Jammu and Kashmir especially Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to have a look into the matter and demanded necessary action in this regard.
Earlier on February, news has come on forth that Kashmiri girl students at Desh Baghat University, Mandi Gobindgarh have alleged high-handed and torture type approach from their faculty. (KNB)
