Srinagar, April 30 (KNB): Two Hizb militants including a civilian were killed during an encounter between militants and government forces in Drubgam, Pulwama, south of Kashmir on Monday. Reports suggest that at least 30 civilians and two soldiers received injuries at the encounter site. The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for complete shutdown against the killings and using force of protestors.
According to the reports, two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants identified as Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Tiger of Drubgam and Aqib Ahmad Khan of Rajpora and a civilian identified as Shahid Ashraf Dar were killed in a gunfight and ensuing clashes in Drubgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
“In Drabgam Pulwama encounter today morning in a joint operation two HeM terrorists killed including top commander Samir Tiger who was involved in number of civilian killings. It should bring peace in the area,” Tweets J&K Police Chief, Dr. Shesh Paul Vaid.
The eyewitnesses told Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) that forces used bullets and pellets to disperse the protestors resulting injuries to dozens of members of public. 2 AK 47 rifles and other incriminating material have also been seized.
A major and a soldier of 44 RR were injured in the initial exchange of fire with the militants, reports said. The injured were shifted to 92 base military hospital in Badami Bagh Srinagar.
Meanwhile, condemning the killings and unleashing a reign of terror at Drabgam Pulwama JRL comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik called for complete shutdown on 1st May 2018 Tuesday. (KNB)
