Although every other day, a gory chapter is being added in the history of Kashmir, with the killing of precious lives, whatever at hands of government forces or vice versa.
Sunday is considered the fun day, however, 2018 seems to be writing a story of bloody Sundays in Kashmir.
On Sunday 6 May, the gunfight in Badigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district ended with the killing of five militants, and five civilians.
Twenty persons, including 13 militants and three Army personnel, were killed as security forces launched “coordinated,” multiple operations in Shopian and Anantnag in south Kashmir on Sunday, 1st April.
On 4th March, Sunday two militants and four civilians were killed as government forces said they responded to an attack on a mobile vehicle check post in south Kashmir’s Shopian during evening time. While security forces claimed that the three killed, who they say were traveling in a car with the militants, were his associates, locals stated that they were civilians.
It is learned that Md Taufeeq, age 26 years, of Manuguru [in Telangana] died in an encounter with security forces on night 11 ( Sunday) /12 March in Hakoora of Anantnag district along with two other Kashmiri militants. Prominent among them Eisa Fazili of Ahmed Nagar Srinagar.
