Policeman killed in Budgam, Central Kashmir

Srinagar, May 11 (KNB): Suspected Militants on Friday while attempting to force their entry inside a Guard post at Budgam, Central Kashmir killing a policeman. Police have registered a case in this connection.



According to the Police spokesman, Militants appeared outside the Guard Post in Wardwan Budgam and held-up SgCt Shamim Ahmad outside his Guard Post who was unarmed and was going to offer Friday prayers at a local mosque in the vicinity.
“Shamim was asked to lead toward the Guard Post however he raised an alarm and the alert jawans inside the Guard Post successfully foiled it.”
In the process, the said official was injured who consequently succumbed to his injury. The slain jawan Sgct Shamim Ahmad No 834 Bd (EXK 981992) is a resident of Check Hanjan Yaripora Kulgam. (KNB)
