Srinagar, Jun 01 (KNB): Government forces in trouble-torn Jammu and Kashmir state has been put on a high alert following reports of large-scale infiltration of many as 12 Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militants through Pir Panchal mountains from Pakistan this month alone.
Reports said that 12 JeM militants have been divided into three groups of four– and are actively operating from Tral, Shopian and Pulwama areas of south Kashmir. The movement of people is also monitored through the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras that are installed at various places in the city.
Taking cognizance of the reports about the presence of Jaish militant, government forces were also seen carrying out surprise check of the vehicles on the entry and exit points in this capital city. The cops were also seen frisking motorcyclists and passengers of vehicles in Srinagar city.
Meanwhile, 183 Battalion of CRPF was targeted in Pulwama in a firing attack by unknown miscreants. However, no casualties had been reported at the time of filing the report. (KNB)
