Srinagar, Jul 02 (KNB): Amid political uncertainty in trouble-torn Jammu and Kashmir State following the collapse of PDP-BJP ‘unholy’ alliance the last month, the embarrassment of erstwhile Chief Minister of state and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti have raised to extend with top members of the party publically expressing dissent.
Apart from Dr. Haseeb Drabu who was sacked from state cabinet for his controversial remarks, another senior party leader and former minister Imran Raza Ansari in a surprising move targeted the PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti by accusing her of remaining ‘incompetent’ that according to Ansari led to the collapse of her dispensation.
Pertinently, following the demise of PDP founder Mufti Muhammad Saeed in January 2016, the party has seen a major crack with close aide of Mufti Saeed, Tariq Ahmad Karra parting ways from PDP.
In the latest development the senior party leader and former minister for IT Imran Raza Ansari said that Mehbooba knocked down the hopes and the dreams of her own father.
He said that PDP and the government had off late been reduced to a family opera where the brothers, the uncles, the aunties and other relatives would play protagonist and to continue with such a party was not only useless but a humiliation too.
The former IT minister said that he has now decided to distance himself from the party. He, however, added that he has not resigned as a legislator or from the basic membership of the party as of now.
Meanwhile sources told Kashmir News Bureau that several key leaders of PDP including some youth leaders have made their mind to part ways from party in coming days. (KNB)
