Srinagar, Sep 15 (Only Kashmir): Ms. Priya Saumya, Executive Director Usha Social Services, a department of Usha International Limited, accompanied by Ms. Indu Gautam, Senior Manager, Usha Social Services, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Ms. Saumya apprised Governor about the Usha Silai School Program, a pan India community based rural initiative of Usha International Ltd., aimed at empowering women from marginalized sections of the communities in the rural areas of India. She informed that a 10 days training programme has been launched by Usha Social Services in collaboration with Kashmir University where 23 women will be given training regarding various aspects of sewing.
Governor appreciated efforts of the Usha International Limited in helping women from rural areas become financially independent through their Silai Programme and wished them success in their endeavours.
