Srinagar, Oct 04 (Only Kashmir): Prominent Lawyer Mian Qayoom was Thursday unopposed elected as the Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association President. With 11 participants in fray the Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association held its elections which saw the huge participation of lawyer voters. The elections were held Lower Court complex Tangpora.
For the post of Vice President, Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Bedar won over Advocate Mushtaq Ahmad Dar in the direct contest. While as for the post of Secretary Advocate Muhammad Ashraf Bhat won over Advocate G N Shaheen. The post of Joint Secretary was bagged by Advocate Adil Asimi
by winning over Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Dhar and Advocate Bilal Ahmad Bhat .
For the post of Treasurer, the fight was won by Advocate Bilal Ahmad Wani with Advocate Sameer Ahmad Wani and Advocate Surat Shakeel Batkoo as his opponents.
Soon after results, the victorious bearers, addressed a gathering of lawyers stating the Bar Association would continue to play an active role in resolving their issues of lawyers. (OK)
