New Delhi, April 19: Incarcerated Shahid ul Islam’s family has filed a fresh application for interim bail before the Court of LD. Special judge (NIA) following jail administration despite several requests allegedly not provided any medication to applicant/accused, Aftab Hilali Shah alias Shahid ul Islam.
According to the family sources, Shahid has a history of diseases like hypertension, diabetes and arthritis and has been under medication from the beginning of the present proceedings. However, recently the Applicant has not been provided with any medication by the jail administration despite several requests.
The court will hear the case of Shahid ul Islam on 22nd of the month.
Pertinently, Shahid is lodged in Tihar Jail under FIR No. RC/10/2017/NIA/DLI, U/Sec. 120-B, 121, 121A, & 124A OF IPC & sec. 13,16,17,18,19,20, 39 & 40 OF UAPA, 1967 since August 2017.
Pertinent to mention here, Shahid was released in January on parole for few days following his wife Nuzhat Shah suffered brain hemorrhage who had no one to look after except two minor daughters.
Last year, the two minor daughters of Shahid-ul-Islam wrote an open letter to Prime Minister of India seeking his “personal intervention” in her father’s case, Suzanne and Sundas described their father as a “pro-dialogue leader” and argued that no charges have been proven against him.
