Srinagar, April 10 (Only Kashmir): At a time when the world is gripped with deadly Corona Virus threat and has put a forceful pause on global level, a man from Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district has come with a trend in solidarity with Cancer patients.
Nadeem Ahmed Mir Social Activist of Kotranka Village of Rajouri has shaved his head after meeting a female Cancer patient which left him quite empathetic. As a mark of solidarity Nadeem initiated a trend on Social Media challenging his friends and acquaintances to shave their heads too in support and solidarity with the Cancer patients.
The viral trend is being widely shared on Social Media. It shows a number of people with shaved heads in solidarity with cancer patients. On top of giving moral support to cancer patients, the trend is getting more viral with each passing day.
“Shaving the head does not come close to what cancer patients go through but this temporary baldness makes a statement that no one needs to go through it alone. This shaving of head becomes a symbol of hope in facing the healing process together,” Nadeem Ahmed Mir said talking to this reporter.
Pertinently, cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy to cure the Cancer will have their heads shaved, besides Hair loss, vomiting comprises the main side effects of chemotherapy. Patients prefer to shave their hair instead, rather than waking up to see lock of hair on the pillow which is rather depressing.
