New Delhi, June 11 (Only Kashmir): Responding to the story filed by Onlykashmir[dot]in “Teamlease, job providing company dupes 700 employees” wherein 700 employees across the country alleged firing by TeamLease Services ltd who would provide services to Gujrat based Azafran Innovacion Ltd, the TeamLease Services EVP and Co-Founder, Rituparna Chakraborty via her consulting media agency adfactorspr[dot]com issued the following statement to media:

“We are a staffing company which caters and responds to the demand or otherwise of our customers across various industries. We are the waiter in the restaurant not the chef. Springboard in good times, shock absorber in bad times. It is important to accept and acknowledge that capital doesn’t pay the salary of people, while it has for the last two months, economic activity does.”

“As an organization we have always upheld the statutory interest of each of our deployed associate employees as per provision of the law and continue to do so during the lockdown and even after, including responsibility of each stakeholder in a tripartite relationship. In this specific instance, on our part we have issued no communication of any kind (including that of disengagement) till date to the associates and hence the claims (if at all) being made are incorrect.”

“However if there has been any direct communication between the principal employer and the associates we shall not be able to comment on the same nor can take responsibility for same. At the moment we are in dialogue with the Principal Employer and have made appropriate escalation to address any challenge that might exist to assist the associates in adherence to the law of the land,” the statement reads.

Meanwhile the employees across the country have filed complaints before concerned Labour Commissioners of the states/UTs. In this regard Labour Commissioner Srinagar has summoned principal company MD Azafran Innovacion Ltd Ms. Mansi Vyas for answering the claim filed by Jammu and Kashmir based six employees. A copy of the summon which lies with Onlykashmir[dot]in reads, “You are directed to appear in person or through authorized representative, failing which action as warranted under the provisions of relevant law shall follow.”
