New Delhi, Jun 24 (Only Kashmir): A day after International Yoga Day, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev added one more star to his career by claiming that his company Patanjali Ayurved has made the first Ayurvedic medicine for deadly coronavirus disease Covid-19.
The medicine called ‘Coronil’ will help in treating the respiratory disease, claimed Ramdev.
“The whole country and the world is waiting for medicine or vaccine for corona. We are proud to announce that the first Ayurvedic, clinically controlled trial based evidence and research-based medicine has been prepared by the combined efforts of Patanjali Research Centre and NIMS,” he said in a presser in Haridwar.

AYUSH MINISTRY BANS ADVERTISING AND SELLING OF CORONIL
Hours after launch of its claimed ayurvedic treatment for the novel coronavirus, Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. was told by the government to stop advertising or publicising any such claim due to the lack of requisite approval. The legal provisions cited in the ministry statement also indicate that Patanjali cannot sell the product as of now.
In order to make this Ministry aware of the facts of the aforesaid news and verify the claims, Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has been asked to provide at the earliest details of the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment; site(s)/hospital(s), where the research study was conducted for COVID-19; protocol, sample size, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, CTRI registration and results data of the study (ies) and stop advertising/publicizing such claims till the issue is duly examined. Ministry has also requested concerned State Licensing Authority of Uttrakhand Government to provide copies of license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines being claimed for the treatment of COVID -19.
Pertinently, there are now over nine million people affected by the pandemic since it broke out in China’s Wuhan city in December last year.
