Srinagar, Jun 29 (Only Kashmir): On way to University, a girl student Khair ul Nisa along with her friend faced humiliation after a Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) personnel vehicle intercepted them and strike her with the palm of his hand at Athwajan near check post.
“We were driving smoothly towards the University after a CRPF convoy passed through and intercepted us near Athwajan, one of the personnel came out of the vehicle and slapped me and even pointed gun towards me for the reasons known to him only,” said Khair ul Nisa MBA student of Kashmir University.
The incident surprised me, I found no option but to resist, we blocked the traffic to protest. As we were protesting the CRPF official came in to scene within no time and seek their apologies.
“Why on earth only Kashmiries face undue harassment, today while on my way to University along with my friend,slapped by men in uniform at Atwajan. Bravely, we resisted.” Khair ul Nisa wrote on her Twitter handle.

“We went to nearest Police station to file FIR, where SHO lending an attentive ear took serious note of the incident, he called the cornered Battalion head of CRPF on phone, who arrived instantly along with the accused and pleaded apology,” She added.
Confirming the incident, SHO Pantha Chowk Mr Rafiq Ahmad talking with Onlykashmir[dot]in said the matter has been resolved amicable after police’s intervention and a formal apology by the accused and top official of the Battalion as well.
