Srinagar, Dec 11 (Only Kashmir): The Jammu and Kashmir’s semi-state owned bank J&K Bank has left its one million online consumers in annoying mode, following after it failed to restore functioning of its defunct mobile banking application J&K Bank mPAY.
Pertinently, last week the J&K Bank asked its consumers to update the application with newer 4.0.27 version, after updating the app, the consumers were surprised after it failed to function again, besides the bank has restricted users to use Wifi during the up gradation of app.
“Ever since the last update, I’ve not been able to log into it. Every time I try to attempt the login, it says the “transaction has been timed out”. I need to make e-payments every time I’m on the go and sadly, I couldn’t make the recent payment due to the login failure. Please fix this error at the earliest,” reads a feedback note of consumer namely Saim Riyaz at Play store.
Expressing anguish over defunct mobile banking application, another user said “Utterly nonsense doesn’t have any basic facility…I couldn’t find below 1 star option …time out issue unnecessary… Mpay is outdated real pain to use with no modern features still gives u option to psy your Tata docomo bills…for heaven’s sake who uses vodafone or Tata Docomo in Kashmir…have some brilliance at least … If we are paying for the services.. we should be getting the services also.. Days nights I have been waiting now to transfer the payment all it is giving me timout.”
A financial expert, pleading anonymity said as many as roughly one million consumers are using J&K Bank mPAY for transactions, and if remains defunct, this will surely affect the Bank’s business as a result it would be problematic to the state’s economy.
There are about plus 1 million users of J&K Bank mPAY the application has so far 3.5 stars out of 5 on Google Play store.
When contacted the Jammu and Kashmir Bank officials they said the problem lies at backend, we are trying our best to clear the errors and very soon it will be restored, adding, we regret the inconvenience caused. However, the problem is at the end of the network provider. We are in touch with the service providers in order to resolve it. Request your cooperation in this regard.
