Srinagar, 18 Dec (Only Kashmir): The media persons working for a Kashmir based news portal “News Stock” has alleged harassment by the District Hospital Pulwama administration after they conduct a ‘sting operation’ in hospital where private security guards were reportedly conducting Covid-19 tests.
Talking to Onlykashmir[dot]in, Editor in Chief Bilal Bhat “News Stock” said after receiving reports that private security guards were reportedly conducting Covid-19 tests in District Hospital Pulwama, which is against ICMR guidelines and also making mockery of the medical profession, we conducted a sting operation.
“The video of the sting operation went viral on social media, besides, it was brought to the notice of CMO Pulwama Dr Haseena, however, there was no response from the said CMO,” the editor said.
In the meanwhile, we received calls by District Information Officer (DIO), who said “no journalist is allowed to carry news without the nod of District Magistrate as per new media policy.”
“The DIO is repeatedly calling our correspondents to report to his office, and is using un-parliamentary language besides threatening of FIRs,” the editor said and added, we have brought the matter in Divisional Commissioner’s Office and several media associations.
When Onlykashmir[dot]in contacted the DIO Pulwama Mr. Tahir Magray, he categorically refuted the allegation labeled by the “News Stock” team, stating, a committee has been formed by the district administration to enquire into the matter.
