Anantnag, Jan 04 (Only Kashmir): People in Tehsil Kokernag belonging to PSP category suffer due to the no seriousness of Tehsildar Kokernag, accusing him of deliberately delaying the issuance of certificates which are lying in the office from last six months.
Pahari speaking people of the area have accused the Tehsildar for not listening to their grievances. A resident said that whenever we approach his office we have been asked to prove our identity in a different way then used earlier for the issuance of PSP certificate.
B.A 3rd Sem. student Umrar Jaan, said, more than 5 months have been passed since he has completed his file for issuance of PSP category certificate which is now lying in the office of Tehsildar Kokernag, however, every time I am being told to come next day, adding, I have been continuously visiting Tehsil office from last 5 months but Tehsildar sends me back by saying we are enquiring.
Tehsil President PSP Kokernag, Mohammad Iqbal said Tehsil authorities at Kokernag are in deep slumber, Tahsildar is in no mood to listen to the grievances of Pahari speaking people of the area.
while as DC Anantnag has already issued an order to all the concerned Tehsildars of Anantnag district to issue the PSP category certificate on the identification of Pahari advisory Board members with the help of Sarpanch and Chokidars, but it seems this order has no meanings to Tehsildar Kokernag.
Residents of Kokernag belonging to Pahari category has requested the Lt Governor and district administration Anantnag to take serious note of this issue and take action against the apathetic Tehsildar so that people belonging to PSP get some relief.
When we contacted the Tehsildar on phone despite repeated attempts he didn’t pick the phone.
